The Winterport Town Council on Tuesday, December 18th appointed Michael R. Crooker as the Town's next Town Manager. He succeeds Phillip G. Pitula, who served as the Town Manager for thirteen years and is retiring from the position. The Council received a total of 16 resumes for the position. Crooker started his municipal management career as the Town Manager in Bradley, and also served as the Town Manager in Glenburn and Assistant City Manager in Bangor. He has a B.S. degree from the University of Maine and a Master's degree in Public Administration from the University of Maine. He has also served as an Adjunct Professor in the University of Maine Department of Public Administration. Michael will start work on Thursday, December 20, 2018.
